Public Recordings: Capitalist Duets
October 25 – December 31, 2016
A collaborative operation that conjoins artistic research, performance creation, learning and publication, Public Recordings work originates in the form, tradition and structures of dance while speaking to the adjacent disciplines of performance, theatre, social- and object-oriented practice. Since 2003 Public Recordings’ performance projects have used choreography to investigate the meanings and possibilities of social space and chart the contact of liveness with critical humanism.
This Public Window project, Capitalist Duets, runs concurrently with the satellite programs surrounding the group exhibition I stood before the source at the Blackwood Gallery in Missisauga.
