Of Birds and Such

In Of Birds and Such, Public Studio marries the past with the present by looking at previous habitats surrounding the bus shelters, the current environs and our collective future. Here we use the shelters in the true sense of a diorama as “illuminated from behind.” Together with the glass and iron structures that came to prominence at the turn of the century, we map 3D images onto the glass to connect this to our contemporary world. As we turn these shelters into breathing art installations, we attempt to engage not only the immediate surroundings, but the community that lives there, encouraging them to reflect on the their ideas of nature and imagine this space before human contact.
