Public Window: Eshrat Erfanian, My 10pm is your 9am

Public Studio is pleased present Eshrat Erfanian’s My 10pm is your pm at Public Window. Mounted in the window of Public Studio, the live/ work space of artists Elle Flanders & Tamira Sawatzky, Public Window facilitates the dissemination of contemporary art practices.

My 10pm is your pm (2015) is a new vinyl and gold-leaf window work by Iranian born artist Eshrat Erfanian. It will be exhibited at Public Window 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1575 Dundas Street West. The exhibition will be displayed from December 7, 2015 – March 17, 2016.

Eshrat Erfanian is an Iranian born, Toronto based multi media artist. Her research-based practice is focused on the effect of new technologies on image and the speed of pictorial language used in our everyday. In her recent works she explores the haunting aerial views from Google Earth Pro of residential addresses. In her solo exhibition in April 2015 (Azad Gallery, Tehran) she presented series of Google Earth Pro images of residential areas in the city of Tehran. For Public Window, Erfanian has produced a dazzling aerial image of downtown Toronto West, with addresses adorned with 24K gold leaf.
